Frequently asked questions
Member Questions Before Purchasing Their Solar System
Will this create an additional invoice/bill for me?
The reason Smart Systems is the best company is that we will always let you know the truth.
– If you install less number of solar panels than your consumption requires, you will receive double billing and therefore you will pay for your equipment and for the extra consumption to the electricity company.
– You will always receive a minimum connection fee from the electricity company, for the dual meter you will get.
– If you get your projection and change your consumption, you will receive a bill from your electricity company, so do not mine bitcoins after installation.
How long do I have to pay for the solar system?
In your projection they give you the options and you choose which one suits you best. The option can be up to 20 years.
How much do I have to pay for the installation?
The installation is included in the financing. You pay nothing out of your pockets.
Do I have to apply for city permits and my HOA?
Yes, but these procedures, being so tedious, the Smart Systems team is in charge of managing everything as part of the process.
What if I want to sell my house in the future?
Unlike other home improvements, like adding a pool, your solar panel financing is affordable. Your buyers can assume the financing and maintain control of their cost of electrical energy. You can include them in the sale price, or you can take them to your new home.
How much is the tax credit?
The tax credit is based on the year of installation of the panels. The IRS gives you this NON-REFUNDABLE credit of 26% of the price of the equipment. We emphasize that the credit is not refundable like the child credit (Child Credit) or the earned income credit (EIC), because the IRS does not return that money to you. The credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your tax debt. If you owe taxes, the credit is used to reduce that debt so you don’t have to pay the IRS. If you had taxes deducted from your paycheck, the credit can be used to get that amount of taxes back from the IRS as a refund and use the solar credit instead of those taxes.
Will I lose the warranty on my roof?
No. And from the moment of installation, you will have an extra 10 years of warranty.
How much do I have to pay up front?
You don’t have to pay a single initial dollar. All equipment and installation is included in the financing.
Do I have to do any maintenance to the Panels?
No… These models are new and are maintenance free.
Can I prepay my loan?
Yes, the financing does not have any extra charges for prepaying your solar system.
